Braille Brain, a cheerful aqua-blue cartoon brain with large brown eyes, white gloves, navy legs, gold-and-aqua high-top shoes, and a navy headband displaying six raised gold Braille dots. He raises one finger as if sharing a bright idea.

Braille Brain

The Curious Host and Idea Starter

Complete description: Braille Brain is a compact anthropomorphic aqua brain with rounded folds, expressive brown eyes and an enthusiastic smile. His navy headband carries a two-by-three Braille cell in gold. White gloves and BV-coloured sneakers give him a lively, approachable appearance.

History and Origin

Braille Brain began with one question: what if learning could feel like opening a surprise? He gathered thinkers, musicians, travellers and playful problem-solvers to build a place where blind, low-vision and sighted visitors could explore together.

He hosts the crew, introduces challenges and reminds everyone that curiosity matters more than already knowing the answer.

Braille Man, a smiling young Black Bahamian superhero dancer with short natural curls, wearing a navy uniform with Bahamian aqua panels, gold trim, a flowing aqua cape, gold-and-aqua sneakers, and six raised gold Braille dots on his chest. He waves while dancing on one foot.

Braille Man

The Confident Dancer and Welcome Ambassador

Complete description: Braille Man is a young Black Bahamian man with warm brown skin, short natural curls and a bright welcoming smile. His athletic navy uniform includes aqua panels, gold armour-like trim, a flowing aqua cape and a clear six-dot chest emblem.

History and Origin

Braille Man discovered that rhythm could turn nervousness into confidence. He started dancing whenever someone entered a room, not to show off—although he certainly enjoys that—but to make every newcomer feel celebrated.

He now welcomes visitors to Brain Vitamin and teaches that self-expression can be another way of reading the world.

Dotty, a playful navy Braille-cell character with a high navy ponytail, large brown eyes, gold gloves, aqua leggings and six large aqua dots ringed in gold across her body. She stands on one foot with a mischievous smile.

Dotty

The Six-Dot Explorer

Complete description: Dotty’s rounded navy body is shaped like a Braille cell. Exactly six large aqua dots, each surrounded by gold, form two vertical columns on her front. She has expressive brown eyes, a high ponytail, gold gloves and sturdy BV dance shoes.

History and Origin

Dotty once worried that a single dot could not say very much. Then she learned that dots working in different combinations can build letters, words and whole libraries.

She hides clues around the Playground so visitors can discover how small details create big meaning.

Professor Dots, an older Black Bahamian man with silver hair, a silver moustache and gold glasses, dressed in a formal navy and aqua academic suit with gold trim and a six-dot medallion, holding a tablet and raising one finger.

Professor Dots spent years collecting facts, theories and extremely long explanations. When Braille Brain invited him to the Playground, he accepted on the condition that everyone recognize his brilliance.

Beneath the grand announcements, he cares deeply about careful thinking and happily changes his mind when a learner brings better evidence.

Captain Cane, a confident young blind Black Bahamian woman with long braids, wearing a navy, aqua and gold adventure uniform with six gold chest dots. She stands independently with a white mobility cane that has a red lower section.

History and Origin

Captain Cane learned every route by listening, touching, counting and asking good questions. She realized independence does not mean refusing help; it means having the skills and confidence to choose your own direction.

She maps new adventures for the crew and teaches everyone to describe landmarks clearly and keep pathways accessible.

Miss Melody, a smiling young Black Bahamian singer with a full natural curly hairstyle accented in aqua and gold, wearing a navy performance coat over aqua clothing with gold shoes, and holding a gold-and-aqua microphone.

Miss Melody

The Music and Rhythm Leader

Complete description: Miss Melody has deep brown skin, bright brown eyes, a warm smile and a full natural curl style threaded with subtle aqua and gold accents. Her flowing navy performance jacket frames aqua dancewear, gold trim and comfortable gold shoes.

History and Origin

Miss Melody noticed that every place has music: cane taps on a pavement, fingers crossing Braille, rain on a roof and voices answering one another. She began collecting those sounds and turning them into songs.

She leads the BV Dance Floor and makes sure music controls are labelled, optional and never allowed to overpower a screen reader.

Echo, a smiling Black Bahamian teenager with short twists, wearing a navy hoodie with aqua sound-wave panels, gold trim, headphones and a six-dot chest emblem. Echo cups one ear and holds glowing aqua sound rings above one hand.

History and Origin

Echo used to answer every question immediately. One day, a quiet sound led the crew out of trouble, and Echo learned that listening is an active skill rather than waiting to speak.

Echo now designs sound clues, call-and-response games and audio experiences that always include clear controls and equivalent text.

Glitch, a friendly rounded navy robot with a smiling dark face screen, glowing gold eyes, aqua illuminated joints, gold trim, six gold chest dots, a three-dot antenna and a floating aqua pixel puzzle above one hand.

Glitch keeps the Playground technology running and reminds visitors that troubleshooting is part of learning.

He helps visitors slow down, ask thoughtful questions and find the lesson hidden inside an adventure.

Mr. Mischief, a grinning young Black Bahamian man with swept locs, wearing a navy tailcoat, aqua trousers, gold trim and high-top shoes. He tips a navy bowler hat while six aqua Braille dots float above it.

Mr. Mischief enjoys changing the expected order of things—but never in a way that harms or excludes anyone. His puzzles ask visitors to adapt, laugh and try another route.

Whenever a plan becomes too rigid, he appears with a harmless surprise to prove that flexible thinking can reveal a new solution.
